This year’s Centennial celebration of the Weld County Fair was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without Keith and Valerie Day, Debbie Carpio, and Justin Sidwell – all members of the Weld County Fair Board.

Each was recognized this week by the Board of County Commissioners for their volunteer service on the fair board. Keith served for three and a half years, Valerie served for two years, Carpio for eight, and Sidwell for six years.

“This is truly a working board,” said Keith Maxey, Director of the CSU Extension Office. “On behalf of Extension, I’d like to thank the members for the time they dedicated to the fair board in helping put on our 100th anniversary celebration which had almost 50,000 visitors.”

Several citizens were reappointed to the fair board: Alan Halley, Dakota Kos, Cody LeBlanc, Jane Miller, Miguel Ojeda, Andrew Raff, Jennifer Seltzer, Jo Temmer, and Neil Temmer.

The fair board is a 21-member board that oversees the Weld County Fair, held the last full week of July, by setting policy and working as volunteers at the fair. Board members attend events during the fair and give as much time as possible.
